Electroformed

Copper electroforming is the process of adding copper to an object.  The process may take up to 18 hours from start to finish (not including the making of the bead itself). The copper can then be patinaed to "age" it, or left as is.

Boro Pendant - Scales#L0025. Boro Pendant - Scales
The frit on this boro pendant reminded me of a dragon's scales.  This pendant was created out of boro glass and then electroformed.  It was then patinaed to a lovely shade of blue (it really isn't as blue as the picture shows...silly camera :-) ).  The patina can be protected by either Museum Wax or a matte varnish, your choice.  This measures approximately 61 mm (top of loop to bottom tip) by 25mm at its widest point.

#L0028. Spiral Bound
An etched Dark Ivory lentil with a spiral electroformed on the front and back.  There's something alluring about the combination of the texture of the electroforming with the satin feel of the etched glass!

Created on a 3/32 inch mandrel, this lentil measures approximately 1 inch in diameter.  It has been patinaed for that Olde World look and protected with a coat of polish.
